Come and enjoy perfect skiing conditions along 168 km of immaculate ski runs, signposted for all levels of ability. And just to ensure that nothing gets in the way of an exhilarating run, snow canons cover 84 of the region's pistes. Naturally, there are also plenty of alpine taverns (over 50 across the region) where you can stop for a hot beverage and a hearty meal.
Bergbahn AG operates 56 modern ski lifts to whisk you to your favourite slope. We recommend you hop aboard the new 3S gondola, which takes nature lovers on a truly spectacular journey across Saukasergraben Valley, and makes travel between villages faster. Free ski buses throughout the region take you to the lift of choice. And if you are a beginner, Kitzbühel would like to offer you a special treat: free use of the region's nursery slopes and practice lifts. Now nothing can stand in the way of a perfect day on the slopes.

It’s snowing! – Hello Mother Hulda!
The Kitzbüheler Alpen region offers the latest high-tech ski lifts, as well as a highly efficient snowmaking system.
It takes only three days for the snow cannons and snow lances to cover over 450 km of pistes - naturally with a little help from Mother Hulda. In doing so, they ensure the Kitzbüheler Alpen’s picturesque landscape sparkles with a dense, compact layer of snow.
Unlike other skiing areas, 20–30 cm of snow in the Kitzbüheler Alpen proves more than adequate to create immaculate pistes and the finest skiing conditions!
The reason is obvious: The Kitzbüheler Alpen slopes have no rocks, just soft grass – that’s the trick!

2,422 mobile snow cannons and snow lances operate at full strength!
More than 450 km of pistes, in other words, 64% of the 704 km available in the 5 ski resorts of the “Top-Skipass” area in the Kitzbüheler Alpen will be covered by snow from snowmaking machines, even in the event of natural snowfall.
Winter 2008/09 will naturally see a lot of new features installed in local ski resorts:
Kitzbühel
- Detachable 4-seater "Ganslern" chair lift makes the original World Cup slalom slope accessible; ideal for all kinds of racing, the Kitzbühel Ski Club are happy to deal with the organisation and implementation
- Jochberg/Wagstätt reservoir provides artificial snow for the slopes in the Jochberg-Resterhöhe region in just 60 hours. Speichersee Wagstätt: 55.000 m3 water (surface 10,000 m2). The core area in the Hahnenkamm/Pengelstein region can also be covered with snow from the Usterkar reservoir in just 60—70 hours. Usterkar reservoir: 98,000 m3 water (surface 12,800 m2)
- Intensification of the snow production for the Steinbergkogel / Griesalm region complete with piste improvement measures
- Upgrading comfort of 4-seater Hochsaukaser chair lift journey time shortened thanks to conveyor system
- Project / in planning stages: 8 Single-track cable car to the Bichlalm Planned opening: Winter 2008/09
A truly unique mountain gondola
Kitzbühel's high speed 3S gondola offers a new dimension of skiing. The state of the art system whisks skiers and snowboarders 400 m above the Saukasergraben Valley, along an enormous span of up to 2,500 meters between supporting towers.The entire construction is based on two termini, with only one supporting tower along its 3.7 km line. Installed in the 2004/05 winter season, the 3S gondola is one of the most technologically advanced ski lifts in the world. The new lift now offers winter sports fans faster travel between the villages of Pengelstein and Jochberg.
